Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Legacy Koi (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa.

1. Information we collect

  • Details you give us through the contact form or by email, such as your name, email address, company and project details.
  • Basic technical information your browser sends when you visit the site, such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

2. How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and provide quotes or services you ask for.
  • To run, secure and improve this website.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing unless you agree to it.

3. Legal basis

We process your information with your consent, to take steps you request before entering a contract, to perform a contract with you, or where we have a legitimate interest or legal duty to do so, as allowed by section 11 of POPIA.

4. Sharing

We only share information with trusted service providers who help us run the business (for example hosting, email and form-handling services), and only as needed. They must keep it confidential and secure. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

5. Cross-border transfers

Some of our service providers may store data outside South Africa. Where this happens we make sure the recipient is bound by laws or agreements that give a similar level of protection, as required by section 72 of POPIA.

6. Cookies

This site uses only the cookies needed for it to work. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy.

7. Security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as the law requires, and then delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its processing, or withdraw your consent. Email dev@legacykoi.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
